Join us for a creative and immersive hands-on mosaic design workshop, where history and artistry come together. This unique event draws inspiration from the serene Clonard Monastery Gardens and the surrounding architectural treasures of West Belfast, including the Carnegie Library.
Guided by an experienced mosaic artist, you’ll explore the intricate patterns, textures, and symbolism found in local Victorian-era stonework and decorative carvings. Participants will learn essential mosaic techniques, from planning and cutting to assembling a finished piece.
Through the lens of Clonard’s red-brick beauty and the Carnegie Library’s sculpted façades, you’ll be encouraged to create your own original mosaic design—whether abstract, geometric, or representational—paying homage to the rich craftsmanship and cultural heritage of the area.
Perfect for beginners and enthusiasts alike, this workshop offers a chance to deepen your connection with Belfast’s historic architecture while expressing your creativity in a vibrant and tactile medium.
All materials provided. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. Spaces are limited—book early to avoid disappointment!
This event is part of our Shared Roots programme in association with Feile an Phobail.
