Festive Flavours

A Celebration of Food, Music & Traditions from Near and Far

Join ArtsEkta for a warm and welcoming festive celebration in the historic surroundings of Down County Museum!

Festive Flavours brings people and cultures together through the universal traditions of food, music, creativity and storytelling. Discover seasonal flavours, explore food traditions from County Down and around the world, and celebrate the stories and experiences that connect our communities.

From delicious cooking demonstrations and artisan food producers to live cultural performances and hands-on creative activities, there’s something for the whole family to enjoy.

What’s On

  • Live Music & Entertainment – enjoy folk, traditional, festive and global performances.
  • Live Food Kitchen – discover recipes, cooking traditions and delicious flavours through demonstrations and tasting experiences.
  • Artisan Food & Makers Market – meet local producers, independent food businesses and creative makers.
  • Creative Workshops – get involved in hands-on winter and festive-inspired activities for all ages.
  • Food Stories & Traditions – explore the memories, recipes and cultural traditions that connect people and communities.

Bringing Communities Together

Festive Flavours is part of Food & Folk Fusion: Shared Stories, Shared Traditions, a community programme delivered by ArtsEkta through Newry, Mourne and Down District Council’s PEACEPLUS Thriving Together initiative.

The programme brings people from different community and cultural backgrounds together to share recipes, explore local heritage, discover traditions from around the world and build new connections through food and storytelling.

Festive Flavours is a celebration of that shared journey, bringing these experiences to life for the wider community.

This project is supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).
