Truck Art was a street art project that co-created a large scale sculpture, mural and community installation with Belfast citizens.
Truck art is a form of art seen in the South Asian culture of Pakistan presenting vibrant and exuberant over-the-top designs that are colourful and shouts out its boisterous designs to the intricate carvings on the body of the trucks.
We teamed up with street artist Lucas Antics, Seedhead Arts, Annan’s Arch and local maker John Quinn to imagine a variety of different artworks inspired by this centuries old tradition.
The project resulted in a new mural on Carmel Street in the Holylands, a large truck art model and community art installation based on the themes of home and belonging.
