Teaming up outdoor arts experts, Walk the Plank, Spellbound took its inspiration from one of the great ancient epics of India called Ramayana.

It is a story of love, loyalty and friendship, told through shadow puppetry and Bharatanatyam traditional dance, performed behind a giant screen, and punctuated by fire and pyrotechnics.

The show played out to thousands of people on a warm summers night to officially open the Belfast Mela 2013. We worked with local dancers and community participants to bring this darkly romantic tale to life in a stunning new way.
